Surviving Civil War & the Tsunami

Presented by the World Affairs Council of Oregon - Young Professionals
What progress has been made in the reconstruction of Sri Lanka, a conflict- ravaged island weakened by a civil war and the destruction of its coastal economy and the loss of over 40,000 lives in the tsunami.

Join Sadna Samaranayake, a native Sri Lankan, founder of Sri Lanka Foundation, and a fellow Council Young Professional, for an honest look at the progress that has been made in the last two years. She will review the successes and failures of the reconstruction effort in the unique environment of a civil war, and the challenges faced by NGOs working in this climate.
